Decisions and Conclusions...

I was considering the fact that I do not eat that many meals at restaurants. I am not sure if this is because I like my own cooking or because good restaurants -- I mean REALLY good ones, are just hard to find.

So I was thinking about the site and what else I could cover. It did not take me very long to decide that I can include product reviews and recommendations for foods I buy and liked enough to get others to try.

Hop Hing's Chinese Restaurant

Location:1343 Oliver Road, Fairfield, CA 94534, Fairfield, California
Summary: This is a fast-food service style (ready to order) place with 6 or 7 regular dishes daily. The prices are very good, the food is consistently good and the staff is very friendly and courteous.
I picked up some black pepper chicken (chicken, musrhoom and onion with a peppery sauce). This is my favorite Hop Hing's dish.
Additional Comments:
The dining area was clean and the visible areas of the establishment were tidy and uncluttered.

Welcome to the "New and Improved" Food Kritik website. We have relocated to the west coast -- where the food seems better and the service on average blows the east-coast snobbies out of the water on an average day.

We relocated three years ago but it has taken some time to have enough reason to reinstate the food kritik philosophies; having visited many of the area restaurants and having formed strong opinions (good and bad) about each of them.

I ordered - "THE MAMMOTH MEAL". This is a Large one-topping pizza and their "chicken things". I was told that the order would arrive in 45 minutes. The weather is rainy, so this is not uncommon. It has been an hour and fifteen minutes. I am wondering WHERE my food is.

The food finally arrived. The driver was half-heartedly apologetic, I guess, explaining that there were accidents everywhere. He didn't actually apologize or anything but I was hungry so I paid him and told him to drive safely. They remembered everything, the order was right and the 2-liter coke was actually cold.

Summary:
I ordered a batch of wings - inferno [their hottest] with extra sauce, and extra celery and bleu cheese. I also ordered some of their "Curtiss Bread", [like breadsticks only better].

The employee taking the call was friendly and helpful when I placed my order.I received my order in a timely manner. I received Curtiss Bread, not even close to inferno wings [very dry], no extra sauce. No extra celery. Plenty of bleu cheese dressing.

The quality of food at Curtiss Landing usually exceeds my expectations; however three times in the past year they have fallen short. Sorry, Curtiss, I probably won't be coming back.

Summary:
The food was served HOT and had very good flavor. The entrees arrived a little sooner than expected [before the appetizers were finished], but was not too rushed. The pricing is reasonable and the environment is very tasteful.
